Current Member Snapshot
Located at the northern end of the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia the Rotary Club of Hope Island is part of Rotary District 9640 , an area that covers parts of South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales. The area is renowned for its three championship golf courses and close proximity to both beaches and theme parks. The area we service includes a mix of retirees and young professional families and is home to around 10,500 people (as at 30 June 2016) though that number is growing rapidly due to ongoing development. The key locations within the suburb of Hope Island include Hope Island Resort and Sanctuary Cove.
Work on the establishment of a Rotary Club in Hope Island commenced in 2002 and, with the guidance of Past District Governor, Ian Yarker, and the hard work of a range of people including our Charter President, Keith Wilson and Warren Fowler from our sponsoring club, Runaway Bay, our club was officially chartered on 26 February 2003.
Our active members consist of small business owners, professionals and those not in the active workforce. We are a mix of men and women ranging in age from mid 20’s right up to something a bit more than that…. Regardless of who you are we like to think we have something to offer for everyone!
